Why Learning Arabic Matters

Arabic is not just a subject. It is the language of the Qur'an, a connection to faith and heritage, and a skill that opens doors to communication and future study. Understanding Arabic helps children become more present in Salah, recognise recurring words and phrases in the Qur'an, and build a stronger connection to their identity. Our Arabic Language classes complement our Qur'an programme and can lead to GCSE Arabic — see our Qur'an and GCSE Arabic pages to explore the full pathway.

Your Questions, Answered

Does my child need prior Arabic knowledge?
No. We teach from complete beginner level, starting with letters and sounds, through to advanced and GCSE preparation. Your child is assessed and placed at the right starting point.
How do you assess the right starting level?
We assess your child's current Arabic ability during a free consultation and recommend the level that best matches their needs and goals.
Which ages do you teach?
We teach children across a range of ages. Contact us to confirm the current age groups for each level.
Are classes at the centre, online or both?
Please contact us to confirm current in-centre and online availability for Arabic classes.
How large are the groups?
We teach in deliberately small groups so every child receives focused attention, benefits from peer learning, and feels comfortable participating.
What do students learn at each level?
Level 1 covers vocabulary, simple sentences, listening and speaking. Level 2 builds reading, grammar and communication. Level 3 develops comprehension, writing and speaking. Level 4 focuses on fluency and independence. GCSE Arabic is exam-focused preparation.
How does Arabic Language differ from Qur'an lessons?
Arabic Language focuses on the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening as a living language. Qur'an lessons focus on correct recitation, tajweed and understanding the Qur'an specifically. The two complement each other and many students take both.
When can a student progress to GCSE Arabic?
A student can progress to GCSE Arabic when they have built sufficient language foundation. We assess readiness and recommend the right time to begin exam-focused preparation.
